“Are You Doing it to Get the Brown Envelope Or for a Player” Librator Blasts Gambian Singers Trend of Praise-singing

Since Gambia’s qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations there’s been a new trend hugging the showbiz industry with singers showering individual players adulation.

This followed Myk Jyda and Attack’s releases extolling Musa Barrow and Bubacarr Trawally -two players have are well adored among national team fans.

It took an Assan Ceesay’s goal to qualify Gambia. However, Lamin Camara dubbed Librator found the latest wave of praise-singing little odd suggesting a general song done for the whole team rather than individual players.

I know we all have our favorite/ personal players in the national team . It’s ok and nothing is wrong with it . I also have my favorite from 2005 to date ( Ebrima Sohna) . As we qualified for the Afcon ( first time in the Gambian soccer history ) I have seen a trend from we the artist which I personally don’t like . Soccer is a team sport , I believe each and every player on the roster deserves a motivation and support . Instead of doing individual songs or tracks why not do a song for the whole team. We win as a team not as a player. Again what’s the motive? Are you doing it to get the brown envelope ? Or are you doing it to show your support genuinely to a player? What ever may be the case I believe GAMBIA IS BIGGER THAN ANY INDIVIDUAL PLAYER. We can have our personal favorite but let’s all support the team,” he said.
