After Gambian’s Nurse Demise, Ex-Health Minister Sey Questions Whether Deaths are Only Corona-related

Apparently worried by the surging amount of deaths, Gambia’s erstwhile health minister Omar Sey has asked whether Covid-19 alone is responsible for the recent registered death.

An unnamed nurse died early this month and sample collected of him July 4th confirmed him to be corovirus positive.

The development sends Gambia’s cases of death to three after the first occurred in March.

Adding to the chaos, the confirmed cases have surged to 61 prompting president Barrow to extend the current state of emergency to further seven days.

And worried by the trajectory, Omar Sey -last serving health minister under former head of state Jammeh’s regime – suggests there could be a “co-founder” to the deaths apart from covid-19.

“What is the relationship between the three deaths and their underlying medical problems? all three samples taken after the persons died. Could there be a cofounder of the cause of the death?,” he posed on the Health Ministry’s timeline.

Responses soon followed suggested there could be another cause amid calls for health officials to “come clean.”
