Drivers in Kombo to Stage Sit Down Strike Unless………

Gambian drivers are intent on staging sit down strike over the price of gasoline.

Drivers are unhappy and accuse Adama Barrow’s government of hiking price of gasoline which they say has declined in the world market.

The planned sit down protest is also linked to government’s order for drivers to carry only half of vehicle passenger capacity in efforts to contain the coronavirus.

“We have discussed with drivers from Kombo to Kaur are all in this. We are aware the difficulties faced by people during this Ramadan but government have not been helping us: First they asked we carry passengers and then reduced just one dalasis in the price of gasoline which does not help our case at all. Majority Drivers have stopped plying the road. this sit down it not like a demonstration and we will continue with it because we are well mobilised through a Whatsapp group,” Nuha Jabbie chairman of the drivers task force said.
