Gambia have set their sight on grabbing the services of Leon Guwara born in Germany.
A star in defence especially at left-back and left midfield, Guwara has been on the list of The Gambia Football Federation despite appearing for Germany at all youth levels.
He is currently with FC Utrecht in Netherlands Premier League after moving there in 2018 from Werder Bremen on a transfer fee quoted to be over thirty-eight million (D38,000,000) Gambian dalasis.
Gambia national team coach Tom Saintfiet, in a latest interview, said he has visited the player but the 23-year-old is hoping on being called by Germany but hasn’t shut the door on playing for Gambia.
