Uncertainty Lingers over When Gambia Faces Gabon as Caf Reschedules Nations Cup

It’s unclear when Gambia takes on Gabon as Africa’s football governing body ponders what time to resume the Nations Cup qualifiers.

Gambia have been due to face Gabon in March but the game had to be put off over fears of coronavirus which eventually led to suspension of football across the continent.

Gambia share the table top with DR Congo on four points each having started off on an impressive footing amid growing optimism of a possible Afcon berth.

However, the Cameroon 2021 Nations Cup -for which Gambia competes in for – have been rescheduled to January 2022 as Caf evaluates what to do next.

Meanwhile, Real de Banjul or any club that gets to represent Gambia in the Caf Champions League or Confederation Cup will be permitted to play possibly this September.
