How Hamza Barry Has Caused His Club to Lose 39 Million Dalasis and then Rejected their Contract

The best of years spent always do not end the manner one wished and Hamza Barry’s association with Croatian Club Hajduk Split is a manifestation of this.

The midfielder was signed by the club four years ago from Cyprus’ Limassol in an interested transfer that began on a loan.

However, having put a lasting impression on the coaches in his first season, the Croatians felt it incumbent to pay over 48 million Gambian dalasis to get his services permanently.

They’d anticipated making huge profits in the event they’d wish to sell him off to the highest bidder.

That though couldn’t happen because the Gambian footballer refused to sign the club’s offer of a new contract , wishing to leave for a higher league.

Talks were held between the player and the club but Hamza’s ambition prevailed, deciding to leave at end of his contract which elapsed June this year.

This situation means Hajduk Split lose over 39 million Gambian dalasis off the player’s head.

The club issued a statement yesterday wishing the 25-year-old scorpion best in his future endeavours as the midfielder too confirmed his departure on his official handle.

Hamza has been linked with clubs in Hungary and Turkey but an injury sustained at close end of the season dampened that.

Currently, he is a free agent.
