Two Weeks after Aiding Repatriate over 30 Gambians Stranded in Lebanon, Lovette Feted In Sweden

Sweden-based Lovette Jallow has been awarded in Stockholm for her works.

A lecturer and a philanthropist, Lovette last month came into the Gambian spotlight after stepping up to rescue stranded girls and children from the Smiling Coast.

The ladies have been trapped in Beirut for nine months, according to some of them, without assistance.

Barrow’s leadership consequently came under torrents of attacks for their inaction -allegations the foreign affairs ministry repudiated.

Jallow came into the picture paying for the women’s return in a move that left the administration in Banjul caught up in a web of embarrassment.

Today, for her exploits, the lecturer-cum model and activist has been feted with an accolade by Stockholm City Council for standing up against racism, xenophobia and promoting peace coexistence.
