Ex-prisons Boss David Colley Denies Stealing Meat, Coos Coos

Former boss of Gambia’s correction centre has rebutted claims of stealing rations meant for prisoners.

Colley has been the subject of accusations from torture to stealing by his own subordinates since the TRRC’s investigations turned to alleged violations at the Mile II.

Prison warden-turned officer Ebrima Njie, convict Soriba Conde and a host of other witnesses testifying before Gambia’s truth commission, fingered Colley of stealing.

And taking his turn to answer to the allegations heaped on him, David repudiated ever stealing rations meant for prisoners in a marathon testimony today.

“First of all , it is not true that I ordered farm produce of the prisoners be taken to my house. Foods in the prison is classified by prison communities as AB for the staff then CD is for the inmates. There is a letter for allocations of foods. If what I say is not true I will suffer the penalty of lying to the commission,” David said.
