BARROW: Half of Quarantine Camp Escapees are Being Traced

President Barrow today claimed half of the coronavirus suspects who escaped quarantining are being traced.

The Gambian public were left dismayed over news that 17 new arrivals have fled on charges where they were being kept in for a 14-day isolation was bed bugs ridden.

The allegation has been denied by the Golden Beach Hotel’s proprietor this week who said the hotel is allowed to re-open following assessment by health officials.

Regarding the unfortunate incident of the people who absconded, almost half of them have been traced. The public is advised to report any person who has escaped quarantining and to be aware that hiding suspects who pose a threat to public health is contrary to the laws of the land,” Barrow said.
