A man believed to be a thief has been arrested at today’s Brikama fire incident.
A car caught-fire in the middle of a road as a crowd of curious on-lookers gathered.
According to eyewitnesses, the man capitalised on the situation to rush into a shop while youth of the area sprang into a frenzy to put out the fire.
It was at this point, another source said, that the alleged thief attempted to break in before the crowd descended on him.
However, police officers, who were not far away from the scene, rushed in to secure the man.
“Instead of helping us, he was busy trying to break into someone’s shop. He was definitely lucky,” Girand Ndow, a passers-by, said.
