At least two people have been confirmed dead with an alarming 19 new positive sufferers of the coronavirus in Touba alone emerging.
This followed test conducted in Touba -Senegal’s most hit region by the pandemic – with 11 of the new 19 coming from fire-fighters.
The remaining figures were traced by close contacts as the disease spreads out to the fire rescue and services barracks.
Meanwhile, two more people have died today in Senegal of the disease with both said to be 75-year-old men from Touba and Ngor respectively.
Senegal now has a combined 21 covid-19 deaths with 2,109 confirmed cases of which 782 have recovered.
