Jizzle: “It took Me Years to Build Myself”

A sure hit at any event, Jizzle this week revealed how long it took him to attain the heights he now basks in.

Named Jerreh Jallow, the Bakau-born this year got feted Gambia’s music man of the year, beating off competition from fellow multiple-award winning singer ST Brikama Boyo.

In the run up to this, he filled up Gambia’s Independence Stadium becoming the nation’s first singer to scoop three millions in one night in the launching of his Scorpion album.

It’s my biggest concert and it was not easy to bring together more than 30,000 people. It took me years to build myself, to have confidence and to be loved” Jizzle tells Musique RFI.

Shows are this minute on the hold owing to the coronavirus.
