Trump’s US Accuse Zeinab of Helping Jammeh Loot Gambia’s Coffers

The United State have accused former First lady Zeinab of aiding husband Yaya Jammeh pillage Gambia’s funds while he was president.

Jammeh has come under intense scrutiny from time of his reign but the public eye has heightened further amid allegations he made away with millions of US dollars into exile.

His wife Moroccan-born Zeinab is strongly said to have siphon and helped set up organisations through which funds are believed to be channeled through.

“Bad actors rely on their networks and front companies to evade sanctions and conceal their illicit activities.We will continue to use our authorities to prevent such illicit funds from moving freely through the international financial system,” Justin G. Muzinich of the US Treasury Office said.

Jammeh came to power in 1994 via a coup launched and implemented by Sana B Sabally and Edward Singhatey before leaving on hot pursuit from regional forces after failing to give up power having lost to Adama Barrow.
