CONFIRMED: Gambia’s Omar Colley Has NOT Contacted Coronavirus

Contrary to reports making the rounds Scorpions’ skipper Omar Colley has not tested positive of coronavirus, Gambia News can authoritatively confirm.

It comes after a number of high profile news outlets reported that the former Wallidan and Real de Banjul defender was one of four UC Sampdoria players to have had the illness.
Colley is currently in isolation as rest of his teammates after their striker tested positive of the Covid-19.
Gambia News have obtained an audio of Omar sent to us by the left-sided player’s family revealing he has not contacted the virus but only has a slight sore throat and is, like all his teammates, in self-isolation as per club doctors’ guidelines over the pandemic.

cThis however, is in conflict with what Sampdoria wrote on its website a minutes ago confirming Colley has the Covid-19 virus.
The said family member tells Gambia News the inclusion of Colley as one of four players with the virus is a ploy by the club to stop the Scorpions vice-captain from leaving for Gambia’s international match with Gabon which has been canceled some hours ago by CAF.
Italy meanwhile is under lock down.
