Former vice-president Ousainou Darboe has urged authorities not to conceal any cases in the event of any, Gambia News can report.
The UDP leader’s remarks, issued about minutes ago, comes three hours hours before his erstwhile boss head of state Adama Barrow’s scheduled address to the nation.
“We hope the authorities will not conceal any cases,” Darboe told a reporters just about the same time the country’s health ministry revealed tests on two Indonesian suspects have proven negative.
“Government should take measures to ensure spread of the virus is contained and make sure we have enough screening centres. One doesn’t have to wait for confirmation of cases. For me confirmation of cases in Senegal is enough for the Gambia because of the geographical locations of the two countries and this is why the UDP did not wait for any government to suspend or order for gatherings not to be held,” Darboe said
