Modou Barrow has come under-fire for returning to The Gambia without his club’s approval, Gambia News can report.
The 27-year-old left-winger is a player of English second division team Reading FC but is sent on loan to Denizlispor, a Turkish Super Lig outfit.
He has had a brilliant season there so far but that could end on a sour note after the Gambian, like many African players, left their clubs to rejoin their families in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
Modou departed Istanbul unannounced into the Gambia just before the airspace was shut after the Turkish FA halted its domestic leagues due to the Covid-19.

Denizlispor asked all players to go into isolation but Barrow opted to leave and the club only got to find out about the Scorpion’s whereabouts after they’d contacted his agent.
Denizlispor said they would be weighing what to do with the player after a board meeting.
