“The President Cannot Remain Unseen and Unheard,” Madi Urges Barrow Even after Leader Passed Covid Test

Barrow has been urged to show up on TV as way of ascertaining he has passed Covid-19’s test.

The 56-year-old went into self-isolation pending outcome of his result last Thursday after it surfaced a couple of his cabinet members have tested positive to the coronavirus.

And reacting to news Barrow has turned a non-carrier of the ailment, activist Madi Jobarteh believes the statesman should still show up on telly.

“It will be great show of leadership if the President himself would go on national television tonight to announce the results himself. A press statement cannot compare to that,” he said.

He added: “Leadership is engagement and communication. The President cannot remain unseen and unheard. The country cannot afford it.The President cannot be substituted by press statements, spokespeople and Ministers.”
