Mai Fatty minutes ago appears to heap fault on President Adama Barrow and his NPP for the increase in the number of coronavirus cases.

Dozens of Gambia’s doctors are currently the worst hit by the human-killer virus with up to sixty health workers under quarantine.
And Mai Fatty today faults Barrow for the covid-19 recent wary, saying it will be herculean for Gambians to adhere to stringent rules “as long as the NPP continues with massive political gatherings and its brazen onslaught against the government’s own SoPE Regulations, by putting politics first above public health.”
He said: “the pandemic has grave implications for the country, particularly urban dwellers. COVID-19 will affect employment, labour market operations, income inequality and access to services. The overall goal of the policy thrust should be to contain the spread of the disease, and mitigate its impact to a point where it will no longer threaten public health.”
Fatty was Barrow’s interior minister before he got fired in 2018 and re-hired last year prior to his decision to opt out of government.
