
Gambia have confirmed its first coronavirus death after the passing of a Bangladeshi man.
It comes on the back of nine suspected cases being examined with one becoming positive which turned out to be the Bangladeshi man who is believed to be a preacher around Bundung Markass.
Reported to be in his 70s, the unidentified Bangladeshi is said to have displayed signs of the symptoms and was rushed to hospital on board an ambulance but died before arriving.
According the country’s health minister, 124 people were being quarantined out of which 17 escaped believed to be returnee travelers and are yet to be accounted for.
