Gambia have registered a new positive case sending the country’s covid-19 toll to four.
The development is revealed to the public by health minister Ahmadou Lamin Samateh during a briefing with the press.
Identified just as a “Gambian gentleman in his 50s,” the latest patient is reported to have boarded the same Royal Air Maroc flight as the first case.
“This means that cumulatively, The Gambia now has four COVID-19 confirmed cases and one probable case.
“It is important to note that all four confirmed cases are imported into the country and there is yet any evidence of the existence of local transmission,’ Dr Samateh said.
