Gambia’s vice-captain Omar Colley has doled out a total 500,000 Gambian dalasis in efforts to eliminate coronavirus.
Based in Italy and plying his trade with Sampdoria, Colley is the latest among prominent individuals to give to the cause. The funds were handed to concerned authorities by Gambia’s football boss Lamin Kabba Bajo.
Dubbed OJ, the defender was one of players reported to have contacted the coronavirus in a fake news spread out by his own club in attempt to deter him from jetting down for Gambia’s Gabon qualifier.

The tale turned out to be unfounded with the player coming out to clear the air saying he had only a slight sore throat and all tests carried out on him proved negative.
