It’s a major relief as Gambia goes into a whole week without registering a coronavirus positive case.
The West African nation first registered its case March 17th after a UK-based 28-year-old woman flew into the country before self-reporting and testing positive.
About a week or so later, a first covid-19 death followed culminating into series of confirmed cases emerging.
The number fluctuated in April. Twenty-five cases are confirmed with just five being active this minute.
The situation comes a major sigh of relief as international restriction on lock down begins to ease slowly.
No positive cases have been reported this week even after seven new sample tests .
