Gambian Footballer’s Home Raided by German Investigators over Claims He Is a Fraudster

A top Gambian footballer has had his residence raided by investigators on suspicion of fraud, Gambia News understands.

Bakery Jatta has been the target of Germany investigators since BILD newspaper claimed last August that he is not who he is claiming to be.

This led to the German Football Association probing the Gambian and summoning him for questioning -claims later found out to be mere fabrication.

Bakery is reported to be Bakary Daffeh, a thing he categorically denies.

Arriving in Germany an under age refugee seeking pastures in the European country in 2015, Jatta signed for Hamburg and is today their best player.

The Gunjur-born was the target of boos at stadiums at start of the season after BILD accused him of fraud – charges he calls a “witch-hunt”.

Today, investigators from Germany launched a raid into the player’s home hoping to find documents connecting him to Bakary Daffeh in desperate efforts at gathering evidence.

They found the player along with his girlfriend taking away with them smart phones, valuable they believe could help their probing.
