
Gambia is far from out of the woods yet with cases alarmingly on the rise as two new samples turn positive.
It followed Gambia government’s decision to relax its lock down.
One of the confirmed case is a Gambian man who “evaded” quarantining having returned from neighbouring Senegal but turned up at a health facility with symptoms similar to covid-19.
The second cases is a Norwegian who jetted into the via SN Brussels July 3rd, health officials say.
However, of good news is five people have recovered, trimming Gambia’s active cases to 28.
The new confirmed cases followed testing carried out on 80 people of which 76 returned negative, two coming out positive with the remaining being inconclusive.
