Up to eighteen Gambians from Saudi Arabia are being hunted by government officials for arriving into the country without being quarantining.
The persons have been identified through their passports numbers and posted for public alert, a dispatch from the health ministry hints.
The persons are understood to be from Saudi Arabia, a hot spot for the covid-19, arriving into the country via Senegal by land, another coronavirus ravaged nation.
The development has led health officials into raising alarm as Gambia’s death of the pandemic reaches 32 in a matter of two weeks.
It’s unclear whether any arrests have been done but the release urges the persons to report or risk facing consequences.
“The Ministry is hereby calling on all those whose names with passport number listed below to immediately report to the Quarantine team by calling the following Numbers: 3545966, 6618797, 3632092, 3011261The mentioned individuals listed herein are strictly advised to comply to this request by surrendering themselves to the quarantine team, failure of which could lead to serious consequences.NAMES AND PASSPORT NUMBERS OF THE STUDENTS1.
