Showbiz stars were not left out in the flood of people showering congratulatory messages to the Gambia’s squad.
Gambia won Gabon 2-1 in a thrilling encounter with goals from Modou Barrow and Musa Barrow proving pivotal.
Modou raced the Gabonese goalkeeper then caught him unawares to slot it home for the Scorpions opening goal before his younger sibling Musa of Bologna powered in the second goal after being fed by Bubacarr Trawally.
This is UAE-based Trawally’s second assist after he again turned provider for Bubacarr Jobe who netted Gambia’s consolation in Francville in the first leg.
And the likes of Fatu Camara and E.NC also joined rest of the country to congratulate the scorpions.
Fatu Camara said: “To the Scorpions, The GFF and The Ministry of Sports, congratulations on a well deserved victory. Wish you all the very best in the future! #TheGambiaOurHomeLand.”
E.N.C added: “I havent been this mad in a long time, but equally such a day to be alive. Congrats boys, most needed and deserved victory with all the bullshit surrounding it #Scorpions“
