Ismaila Ceesay has spoken and made huge vows shortly after being nominated as Citizen Alliance’s presidential candidate for the coming polls.
A lecturer at Gambia’s university, Ceesay’s nomination, pundits say, came as no surprise after rumours whirled around of his ambition to rival Barrow just days following registration of CA as a party.
Even though indications were clear CA opted to keep their cards close to the chest over who mans their flag.
“I am super excited to rise up to the challenge. I am also looking forward to working with every Gambian and every friend of The Gambia to uplift our country,” he said minutes ago on his official social media handle.
Describing the road filled with “stumbling blocks”, the activist and social commentator claims the venture is worth “driving through”.
“The road to restoring the dignity of the people of The Gambia might be paved with stumbling blocks, but it is worth driving through. This is possible with your support, the support of every Gambian who believes in allying the wisdom of our patriotic seniors to the potential of the youths and our generation to bring the effective change and the development all successive governments are yet to achieve since 1965.The Gambia we want is near. Change is here,” he said.
The trajectory means Ceesay is the figure poised to represent CA adding to Barrow’s nemesis as the Mankamang Kunda-born looks determine to retain his seat.
