Omar Colley could be heading to the English Premier League if Newcastle United firm up interest in the Gambian.
The 28-year-old defender has been the subject of talks recently and his employers Sampdoria moved to seal his future, committing him to a longer contract.
Decision to have him put pen to paper is being interpreted as a strategic plot by Sampdoria to rake in more funds after growing resigned to the fact that the Gambian vice-captain is bound to leave possibly this January.
Southampton, West Ham United and Everton have all been previously linked to the centre-back but Newcastle United have now emerged as the likely destination.
